More information
With the Bodegas Faustino V Reserva comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. It offers a wonderfully bright ruby color. If you tilt the glass a bit, a transition of the wine color towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. To the nose, this Bodegas Faustino red wine presents all sorts of black currant, rum pot, blueberry, wild berry jam and plum marshmallow. As if that wasn't already impressive, the aging in large wooden barrels adds other flavors such as toasted hazelnut, roasted almond and whole-nut chocolate.
On the palate, the V Reserva from Bodegas Faustino opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. In the finish, this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of La Rioja finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of black currant and rum pot.
Vinification of the V Reserva from Bodegas Faustino
Mazuelo and Tempranillo grapes are the starting point for the first-class and wonderfully balanced cuvée V Reserva from Bodegas Faustino. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the V Reserva is aged for another 18 months in French oak barrels. The barrel aging is followed by a long bottle aging, which makes this red wine even more complex.
Food recommendation for the Bodegas Faustino V Reserva
Drink this red wine from Spain ideally tempered at 15 - 18°C as a companion to ossobuco, roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or braised chicken in red wine.
