More information
The expressive Valpolicella Ripasso from Costa Arènte is made from Corvina (50%), Corvinone (30%), Rondinella (10%) and other red grape varieties (10%).
This wine shines a deep, dense ruby red with purple highlights in the glass. The multi-layered bouquet reveals lush aromas of red fruits - juicy cherries and redcurrants in particular come to the fore. This is accompanied by spicy nuances of freshly ground pepper. The red fruit aromas are also very present on the palate and are surrounded by a refreshing acidity. The soft and round tannins accompany a pleasantly long-lasting finish.
Vinification of Costa Arènte Ripasso Valpolicella
The hand-picked grapes for this red wine come from the Veneto region - D.O.C. Valpolicella Ripasso. The vines are rooted on marl from the calcareous rock of the Dolomites.
After the harvest at the beginning of October, the grapes are gently pressed in the wine cellar. The mash is then fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. This wine then continues to ferment on the skins for a while (ripasso process). Once fermentation is complete, this Italian red wine is matured for a total of 9 months in large wooden barrels.
Recommendation for the Ripasso Valpolicella Costa Arènte
This dry red wine from Italy is an excellent accompaniment to game goulash with boiled potatoes, all kinds of risotto variations or fresh mushroom dishes.
