More information
When given a little air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Monte Zovo reveals aromas of morello cherries, mulberries, black cherries, blackcurrants and lavender, complemented by gingerbread spice, vanilla and oriental spices. This Italian wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with 7.5 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a premium and single-vineyard wine, this Italian wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, the Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore flatters the palate with a pleasing sensation without lacking freshness. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Veneto wine-growing region, or more precisely from the Valpolicella Ripasso DOC, ultimately delights with a beautiful aftertaste.
Vinification of the Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore from Monte Zovo
The powerful Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore from Italy is a cuvée made from the Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grape varieties. Naturally, the Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is also determined by the climatic and stylistic factors of the Valpolicella Ripasso DOC. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, with an extraordinarily impressive presentation. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is matured in oak barrels for a further 18 months.
