The Vert Côtes de Gascogne from the wine-growing region of Gascony presents itself in the glass in brilliant shimmering copper gold. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from France presents wonderfully expressive aromas of star fruit, physalis, peach and mango, rounded off by other fruity nuances.
The Colombier Vert Côtes de Gascogne presents itself to the wine connoisseur wonderfully dry. This white wine is never coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this fleet-footed white wine is wonderfully light and velvety. In the finish, this storable white wine from the wine-growing region of Gascony finally inspires with beautiful length. Once again, hints of nectarine and Gallia melon appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and clay are added.
Vinification of the Vert Côtes de Gascogne by Colombier
This elegant white wine from France is vinified from the Colombard grape variety. In Gascony, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and sand. After the manual harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.
Food pairing with Colombier Vert Côtes de Gascogne
This French wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to omelet with salmon and fennel, roasted trout with ginger pear or fruity endive salad.
