In the glass, the Vigneto Serpara Aglianico del Vulture Superiore from Re Manfredi has a dense purple-red color. Held at a slight angle, a transition of the hue towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in the clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. This Re Manfredi red wine reveals all kinds of black cherries, damsons, plums, morello cherries and mulberries on the nose. As if that wasn't already impressive, oriental spices, black tea and juniper are added due to the ageing in small wooden barrels.
The Re Manfredi Vigneto Serpara Aglianico del Vulture Superiore is wonderfully dry. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense and fleshy texture. The finish of this red wine from the Basilicata wine-growing region impresses with a beautiful aftertaste.
