Villa Sandi is located in the Italian province of Treviso, surrounded by green hills. The splendid manor house, built in 1622 in the Palladian architectural style, is now the headquarters of the company, which combines the vineyard La Rivetta, the winery of Montello and Colli Asolani, the estate of Valdobbiadene and the estate of Silimbergo.
Villa Sandi's architecture blends in perfectly with the surrounding environment, and combines with the surrounding nature in dialect, creating a harmonious relationship between man and the environment, which is also reflected in the work carried out in the wineries belonging to the villa.
The vineyard La Rivetta is located between the municipalities of Santo Stefano and San Pietro and covers about 1.5 hectares.
The vines growing here benefit from a perfect combination of a mild microclimate and fertile soil of ancient origin.
In Valdobbiadene, where there is a second estate of Villa Sandi, the high number of hours of sunshine is also used for viticulture.
Due to its airy location, this vineyard is suitable for the cultivation of the best grapes and the production of the great Prosecco cru.
Villa Sandi also obtains grapes from other winegrowers in this region. These are strictly selected by there own oenologists and agronomists.
and used for the production of elegant wines with fruity and flowery aromas.
The Montello and Colli Asolani winery cooperates with the Conegliano Research Centre for Viticulture and uses, in addition to traditional techniques, the latest knowledge of this institution for the cultivation of its wines. Situated in the heart of Montello and in the hills of Valdobbiadene, the rich soil and climate allow the cultivation of great red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
In the village of Spilimbergo is the fourth of Villa Sandi's vineyards. The approximately 50 hectares of vineyards in the Grave del Friuli area are located on a plain formed by alluvial soils.
The large number of gravel and stones has a positive effect on the ripening process of the grapes growing there: during the day they reduce the light of the sun but store the heat so that strong temperature fluctuations are avoided.
In this way, the beginning of the harvest can be delayed a little, the ripe grapes are more sugary and very aromatic.
Villa Sandi's winemakers cultivate the grape varieties Glera, Pinot Grigio and Ribolla Gialla in Spilimbergo.
