More information about Villa Soleilla - Gérard Bertrand

In the glass, the biodynamically produced Villa Soleilla from the house of Gérard Bertrand presents a dense pale yellow color. When swirling the wine glass, this white wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. This French cuvée flatters wonderfully fragrant notes of acacia, orange and apricot in the glass. These are joined by hints of other fruits.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Frenchman enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Excellent taste does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful white wine is wonderfully dense. The final of this white wine from France finally impresses with good reverberation.

Vinification of the Gérard Bertrand Villa Soleilla

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Cuvée Villa Soleilla from Gérard Bertrand are Roussanne, Vermentino and Viognier grapes. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Villa Soleilla are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of punishing and barely selective machinery. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in amphorae and large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the powerful Villa Soleilla is aged for another 8 months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Villa Soleilla by Gérard Bertrand

This French wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to Thai cucumber salad, chickpea curry or leek soup.
