More information about Vin de Constance 0,5 l - Klein Constantia
This dessert wine flatters the eye with a brilliant golden yellow. The first nose of Klein Constantia's Vin de Constance convinces with aromas of kumquats, dried fruit and grapefruits. The fruity hints of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as gingerbread spice, roasted almond and toasted hazelnut.
The Vin de Constance can be described as exceptionally fruity and velvety, having been vinified with a wonderfully sweet flavor profile. Full-bodied and multilayered, this creamy dessert wine presents itself on the palate. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Vin de Constance is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this excellent ripening dessert wine from the wine-growing region Coastal Region, more precisely from Cape Town, finally captivates with considerable reverberation.
Vinification of the Klein Constantia Vin de Constance
This dessert wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Gelber Muskateller. For this exceptionally powerful varietal wine from Klein Constantia, only the best grapes were harvested.
After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, this sweet wine is aged for 3 years in barrels - a combination of new French and Hungarian oak barrels, and French acacia barrels. This is followed by 6 months in steel tanks before this dessert wine is bottled.
