More information
The Viña Ardanza Reserva from La Rioja Alta is an excellent, harmonious and excellent red wine cuvée from the Spanish wine region DOCa La Rioja. This wine is vinified from the Tempranillo and Garnacha grape varieties.
In the glass, this wine shimmers in a dark cherry red with ruby highlights. The bouquet shows fruity aromas as well as a balanced spicy character. Sweet cherry and black currant chocolate present themselves on the nose combined with notes of black pepper, tobacco, nutmeg, coffee, mocha and cinnamon. On the palate, this Spanish red wine is wonderfully balanced. A soft freshness with beautiful structure is revealed at the first sip. The elegant tannins are perfectly integrated and harmonize very well with the soft body. The pleasantly long finish is accompanied pickled cherries and black currants with a touch of sweet spices.
Vinification of the La Rioja Alta Viña Ardanza Reserva
The Tempranillo grapes come from the vineyards La Cuesta and Montecillo in Fuenmayor and Cenicero - the Garnacha grapes from La Pedriza in Tudelilla (Rioja Baja).
In mid-October begins the careful harvest by hand for both grape varieties. After being immediately brought to the winery of La Rioja, they are vinified and aged separately. At controlled temperature, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks - followed by malolactic fermentation. The Tempranillo ages for 36 months in American oak barrels - The Garnacha for 30 months in American oak barrels.
Only after wood aging, the two grape varieties are blended and bottled.
Food recommendation for the Reserva La Rioja Alta Viña Ardanza
