Viña Errazuriz - sustainable viticulture from the Andes

Since the forefather of the founder of the winery moved from the Basque Country to the Chilean capital Santiago, the family has counted four presidents, two archbishops, several diplomats, industrialists and writers among its family tree. Don Maximiano Errazuriz, born in Santiago in 1832, was one of these important industrialists of the Errazuriz family. Having gained enormous wealth through copper trading and luminization of the streets of the capital, he founded a winery in Panquehue in 1870, which has lasted to this day.

In the Valle de Aconcagua, Don Maxim iano found the ideal conditions for producing high quality wines. Cool, wet winters, dry warm summers and, due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, perfect humidity. He planted clones of first-class French vines on the best soils of the estate and endeavoured throughout his life to modernise production with a view to increasing quality. The current owner, Eduardo Chadwick, is the fifth generation to successfully carry on his great-grandfather's legacy into the new millennium. Wines from Viña Errazuriz are among the best grape juices of the Andean country.
