Viñas del Vero - A young winery with ambitions
Viñas del Vero was founded in 1986 in Barbarstro, a small town in the Spanish province of Huesca. After 550 hectares of land were purchased, the first wine was bottled in 1990. A wide range of vines are cultivated on the estate's vineyards, including locally known varieties such as Tempranillo, Moristel, Garnacha and Macabeo, but also grapes that are usually fermented in the neighbouring country, such as Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir.
Viñas del Vero's short ascent to major producer
Viñas del Vero now owns 700 hectares of vineyards and produces 5,000,000,000 bottles of wine a year with 250 steel tanks and 8,000 barrels of French oak, but does not make the mistake of the 60s, 70s and 80s when quality suffered from the quantity. The enormous capacities of vines and qualified personnel are just what you need.
