More information

The elegant Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from La Braccesca comes into the glass with a bright purple color. Swirling the glass, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. The first nose of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano presents nuances of plums, lilies and damsons. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing and even more fruity, balsamic nuances.

The La Braccesca Vino Nobile di Montepulciano impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in this price range, this Italian wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully silky, melting, velvety and dense. On the finish, this wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region, which ages well, finally delights with its exceptional length. There are again hints of lilac and blackberry.

Vinification of the La Braccesca Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

The balanced Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Italy is a cuvée made from the Merlot and Sangiovese grape varieties. Of course, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is also determined by the climate and the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG winegrowing style. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, presenting itself with exceptional elegance. The fact that the Merlot and Sangiovese grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate also has a considerable influence on the ripening of the grapes. Among other things, this results in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high alcohol content in the wine. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand at the time of optimum ripeness. After hand-picking, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is matured in oak barrels for a further 24 months. The ageing in oak barrels is followed by a long period of ageing in the bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Dining recommendations for La Braccesca Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, braised chicken in red wine or red onions stuffed with couscous and apricots.
