More information
In the glass, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Castello Toscano presents a dense ruby red color. Held at a slight angle, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. This single-varietal Italian wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of plums, damsons, blackberries and morello cherries in the glass. There are also hints of oriental spices, dark chocolate and toasted barrique.
This Italian wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with 4 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this Italian wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly melting texture. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano flatters the palate with a soft mouthfeel without lacking in juicy liveliness. The finish of this well-matured red wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region, Chianti DOCG to be precise, impresses with a remarkable aftertaste.
Vinification of the Castello Toscano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Sangiovese grape variety. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is matured for 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
Recommended pairing for the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Castello Toscano
This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It goes perfectly with baked sheep's cheese parcels, spinach gratin with almonds or Thai cucumber salad
