More information about Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 1,5 l Magnum - Carpineto

The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Carpineto from Carpineto in Tuscany offers a bright, ruby red color in a swirled glass. If you hold the glass at a slight angle, you can see a transition in color towards garnet red at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you give it a little air by swirling it, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully complex aromas of blueberry, mulberry, blackberry and plum, rounded off by lovage, garrigue and dark chocolate, which are contributed by the ageing in wooden barrels.

The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG Magnum is wonderfully dry for the wine connoisseur. This red wine is never coarse or austere, as you would expect from a wine from the Icon wine segment. Thanks to its moderate fruit acidity, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano has a soft mouthfeel without lacking in juicy liveliness. On the finish, this very storable wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of blackcurrant and black cherry. Mineral notes from the clay-dominated soil are added in the finish.

Vinification of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Magnum from Carpineto

The basis for the balanced Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva from Tuscany is grapes from the Sangiovese grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Tuscany. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into clay soils. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, presenting itself as exceptionally complex. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand after optimal ripeness has been ensured. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is aged for a further 24 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels.

Recommended pairing for the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva - Carpineto

This Italian wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to red onions stuffed with couscous and apricots, lemon-chilli chicken with bulgur or baked sheep's cheese parcels.
