Vivia Maremma Toscana DOC 2018 - Le Mortelle
The Vivia Maremma Toscana DOC from Le Mortelle is straw yellow with delicate green accents in the glass. The bouquet is intense and sweet with aromas of ripe white fruit, complemented by notes of pineapple and mango, followed by delicate notes of citrus and white flowers. On the palate it is tasty, lively, full-bodied and fresh, with a long finish with hints of cedar zest in the pleasant aftertaste.
Vinification of Vivia Maremma Toscana DOC by Le Mortelle
The sandy, loamy and clayey soils are home to the autochthonous Vermentino and Ansonica grape varieties typical of the Tuscan coastal region, which, together with the newly planted Viognier, produce an elegant white terroir wine with the characteristic colours and aromas of the Maremma coast.
The first grape variety to be harvested is Viognier, which gives the aromas of ripe fruit, followed by Vermentino, which gives the wine freshness and fragrance. The last one is Ansonica, almost a late harvest at the beginning of October, which gives the wine its structure and aroma.
After the harvest, the grapes are gently pressed by grape variety and vinified separately to enhance their individual characteristics. The must is decanted naturally by cooling and then transferred to stainless steel tanks where the alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. After a short maturation of three moantes in stainless steel tanks on the fine yeasts, the cuvée is formed and the wine is bottled in January after the harvest and finishes maturing for another three months before being sold.
