The barrel-aged Pinot Blanc from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen reveals itself in the glass in bright light yellow. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from the Old World shows wonderfully expressive aromas of acacia, quince, apple and orange blossom, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the aging in wooden barrels.

The Wagner-Stempel Weissburgunder impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with only 2.4 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this German wine naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the tongue, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly crisp and creamy texture. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Pinot Blanc reveals itself exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally inspires with good length. There are again hints of quince and nashi pear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and silicate rock join in.

Vinification of the Weissburgunder from Wagner-Stempel

The balanced Weissburgunder from Germany is a single-varietal wine, organically vinified from the Weissburgunder grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand and silicate rock. The grapes for this white wine from Germany are harvested exclusively by hand, at the time of optimal ripeness. After the hand harvest, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Pinot Blanc is aged for several months in 1200-liter oak barrels.

Food recommendation for Wagner-Stempel Pinot Blanc

This white wine from Germany is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to vegetable salad with beetroot, wok vegetables with fish or coconut-lime fish curry.
