More information
The elegant Walsheimer Rossberg Riesling Grand Réserve from the house of Karl Pfaffmann flows into the glass with a bright light yellow color. Swiveling the glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like manner. This single varietal German wine flatters in the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of cherry blossom, pink grapefruit, honeysuckle and pears. These are joined by hints of dark chocolate, sun-warmed rock and vanilla.
The Karl Pfaffmann Walsheimer Rossberg Riesling Grand Réserve impresses with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 4.5 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in this price range, this German wine enchants with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. With its vital fruit acidity, the Walsheimer Rossberg Riesling Grand Réserve is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Palatinate finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of grapefruit and apple show through.
Vinification of the Karl Pfaffmann Walsheimer Rossberg Riesling Grand Réserve
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Riesling. Only the best grape material was harvested for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Karl Pfaffmann. Of course, the Walsheimer Rossberg Riesling Grand Réserve is also determined by the climate and viticultural style from Walsheim. This German wine can literally be described as an Old World wine that is exceptionally impressive. After the grape harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures.
