The Manz family- passion for good wine
The Manzfamily from the Rheingau has been fascinated by winemaking since 1725. Like many generations before them, the passion drives them on and on. The focus is always on the highest quality and independence.
All employees at the Manz Winery know their craft and that is how the wines taste: completely Manz.
The vineyards
A total of 25 hectares of vineyards are cultivated in and around Weinolsheim.
For example, slopes in the areas
- Dahlheim Kranzberg
- Ludwigshöher Teufelskopf
- Oppenheimer Herrenberg
- or Guntersblumer Steigterasse
belong to the Manz family.
In the vineyards of the Weinholsheimer Kehr are the Tradiotionslagen. They were mentioned for the first time as early as 1465. The chalky soil here produces extremely dense wines with a high mineral content.
The wine-growing region of Rheinhessen
Even the ancient Romans cultivated wine in the area on the left bank of the Rhine, because they quickly realized that the climate here is ideal for winegrowing. The cultivated areas are protected by the mountains in the west and the low rainfall, the warm summers and mild winters are a guarantee for quality that can be tasted in the glass.
With its almost 27000 hectares of vineyards, Rheinhessen is the largest German wine-growing region. So it is no wonder that almost every village in Rheinhessen can look back on a long tradition of winegrowing. Only 5 villages in this huge wine-growing region do not have a winegrower.
The region is characterized by rolling hills and vines as far as the eye can see. Especially famous are the Rieslings, which regularly cause a sensation in the wine scene. At Manz, exceptionally durable Rieslings with a mineral acid structure come from the slopes of the Niersteiner Hipping. The vintners of the Rheinhessen region create young, modern wines but also top products. Of course, so much passion has to be rewarded. Thus, Mainz has been part of the "Great Wine Capitals" network since 2008 and can thus be mentioned in the same breath as cities like Cape Town or San Francisco.
