The family business Wein- und Sektgut Barth from Hattenheim, founded by Johann, called "Hans", Barth in 1948, is known above all for its Rieslings and sparkling wines. 

The Barth wine and sparkling wine estate in the Rheingau

The sites in the beautiful little town of Hattenheim are of outstanding quality. The Rhine, which flows directly from east to west in the Rheingau for the only time, has its widest extension here. Especially in the middle of the Rheingau, in Hattenheim, it is almost one kilometer wide at average water levels. The width of the river and the hillside location, most of which faces south, are ideal for viticulture. The quality of the soils is also excellent, especially deep and varied. No wonder that a large part of the vineyard area in the central Rheingau has been awarded the highest site classification.

The Barth Wine and Sparkling Wine Estate has become famous not only for its dry and noble sweet Rieslings, but above all for its Winzersekt Ultra, which has been ranked among the top class sparkling wines by various trade magazines. The continuation of the success of the Barth sparkling wine is ensured by the commitment of Johann Barth's granddaughter. The studied oenologist works hand in hand with her husband in her father's winery.
