Vinification of the Weinolsheimer Kehr *** Riesling from Manz Winery
The balanced Weinolsheimer Kehr *** Riesling from Germany is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Riesling grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and marl. The ripeness of the grapes for this wine made from Riesling is influenced to a very high degree by the climate of the growing region. In Rheinhessen, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate must weight. After harvesting, the grapes are taken to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.
