More information
In the glass, the Pinot Blanc Chardonnay from Weingut Freiherr von Gleichenstein presents a brilliantly shimmering light yellow color. This German cuvée reveals wonderfully expressive notes of black cherries, quince, nashi pear and apples in the glass. These are joined by hints of other fruits.
The Weingut Freiherr von Gleichenstein Pinot Blanc Chardonnay presents itself to the wine connoisseur pleasantly dry. This white wine is never coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. Light-footed and complex, this crisp white wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Pinot Blanc Chardonnay flatters the palate with a velvety feel, without lacking juicy liveliness. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Baden finally inspires with beautiful length. Again, hints of nectarine and peach show up. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess are added.
Vinification of the Weingut Freiherr von Gleichenstein Pinot Blanc Chardonnay
The basis for the elegant Pinot Blanc Chardonnay from Baden are grapes from the Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc varieties. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Pinot Blanc Chardonnay can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
