More information about Weißburgunder - Dönnhoff
The Dönnhoff Pinot Blanc is a first-class white wine in a crystal-clear glass. It offers a wonderfully bright, light yellow color. This Dönnhoff white wine reveals all kinds of mangoes, peaches and lemons on the nose. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in large wooden barrels adds further aromas such as minerals.
This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this German wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly light texture. On the finish, this white wine from the Nahe wine-growing region delights with its beautiful length. Once again, there are hints of mango and lemon. Mineral notes from the volcanic rock and loess soil dominate the finish.
Vinification of the Dönnhoff Pinot Blanc
This balanced Pinot Blanc from Germany is a single-varietal wine made from the Pinot Blanc grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Nahe region. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of loam, loess and volcanic rock. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Pinot Blanc can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
