The Maybach Weisser Burgunder from Peter Mertes in Rheinhessen reveals a brilliant, light yellow color in the swirled glass. With a little time in the glass, this white wine from Germany presents wonderfully expressive aromas of nashi pear, pear, apple and quince, rounded out by roasted almond, roasted hazelnut and whole-nut chocolate.
This German wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 7.2 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. Light-footed and multifaceted, this melting white wine presents itself on the palate. Due to its lively fruit acid, the Maybach Weisser Burgunder is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of quince and nashi pear.
Vinification of the Maybach Weisser Burgunder from Peter Mertes
This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Blanc. Only the best grape material was used for this wonderfully elegant varietal wine from Peter Mertes. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Maybach Weisser Burgunder is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for several months. After the wine is finished, the Maybach Weisser Burgunder is carefully harmonized.
