More information about Weisses Espenblatt - Weingut Espenhof

The Weisses Espenblatt from the Espenhof Winery shines in the glass in a bright straw yellow  and inspires with its fruity and fresh bouquet. This contains the wonderful aromas of yellow peach and mirabelle. These are accompanied by citrus and vegetal notes.

This white wine cuvée is present on the palate with an interplay of sweetness and acidity and is fresh and balanced with youthful character and a pleasant residual sweetness.

Vinification for the Weisses Espenblatt from the Espenhof Winery

This white wine cuvée consists of the grape varieties  Riesling (55%), Scheurebe (40%) and Gewürztraminer (5%) and represents the typical limestone sites of the Flonheim region.

The grapes for this wine come from a south-facing slope from the Flonheimer Binger Berg site. The soils there are of loess-loam soil layers interspersed with sandstones, with shell limestone in the subsoil.

The aging for this cuvée takes place after a short standing time in stainless steel tanks. After racking, the wine is aged on fine lees until bottling.

Food recommendation for the Weisses Espenblatt from the Espenhof Winery

Enjoy this fine tart white wine with apple soup with gorgonzola, eggplant salad with feta cheese, shrimp lemongrass skewers or filet of sole with champagne sauce.
