Westhofener Chardonnay trocken 2018 - Dreissigacker
The Westhofener Chardonnay by Dreissigacker comes into the glass with a wonderful golden yellow colour and reveals a sensationally fresh and fruity bouquet to the nose. Yellow stone fruits like mirabelles and apricots, ripe pears as well as exotic fruits like mango and pineapple determine the first nose. Elegant herbal notes of rosemary and some cinnamon and orange peel complete the bouquet. The fragrance profile of the Westhofener Chardonnays is rounded off by Dreissigacker with elegant nutty and slightly buttery notes and a hint of brioche.
On the palate, the Dreissigacker Westhofener Chardonnay delivers a clear, fine juicy attack. Dense, powerful, quite compact and complex in body, this Chardonnay glides over the tongue. The palate is filled with a precise, tight structure with a melt-in-the-mouth and an almost exotic taste of candied stone fruit and honeydew melon with a palatable minerality, again herbs and delicate vanilla notes. The Dreissigacker Westhofener Chardonnay flows into an unbelievably long finish, which reveals a wonderful interplay of acidity, freshness and creamy fullness, persisting and intense as well as deep and tenderly melting again.
Vinification of the Dreissigacker Westhofener Chardonnay
This Rheinhessische Chardonnay from Dreissigacker is produced from certified organic grapes. After the harvest they are gently pressed and cold macerated for a few hours. After pressing, the must is spontaneously fermented and the wine is aged in wooden barrels for 8 months.
