More information
Ellermann & Spiegel's Windrosé is a wonderfully animating, lively rosé wine cuvée from the German wine-growing region of Palatinate, vinified from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
In the glass, this wine is a brilliant bright salmon pink. The nose is spoiled by a fruity and lively bouquet. Red berry fruits - especially strawberries and raspberries - sun-ripened cherries and ripe figs unfold. On the palate, this German rosé convinces with a beautiful abundance of aromas, a juicy body and a tangy, elegant texture. The interplay of beautiful fruit acidity and filigree residual sweetness gives this wine its animating character. This wine closes with a medium finish.
The Windrosé Cuvée from is a fantastic summer wine from the pen of Frank Spiegel.
Vinification of the Windrosé Rosé from Ellermann-Spiegel
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully elegant Cuvée Windrosé from Ellermann-Spiegel are Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate region, where the vines dig their roots deep into soils of sedimentary and weathered rock. The fact that the Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a considerable influence on the development of the vintage. This results, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After manual harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. After juice extraction, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
Food recommendation for the Ellermann & Spiegel Windrosé dry
This German rosé wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to roasted trout with ginger pear or vegetable salad with beetroot.
