The vineyards of Winzer Krems
The Winzer Krems growing area is located 70 km west of Vienna. Many of the vineyards are located on slopes and steep rock terraces. Here microclimate spaces, favored by river courses and valleys protected to the north, and optimal soils play together so that a variety of different varieties and qualities can grow.
- Krems Sand Pit: The winery Winzer Krems is located in the middle of this traditional Krems site.
- Krems Gold Mountain: The loess plateau is located in the northeast of the city of Krems.
- Krems Wachtberg: In the north of the city of Krems is the Kremser Wachtberg with deep loess soils and partly primary rock weathered soils.
- Kremser Kremsleithen: The site is located on the banks of the Krems River. The wine grows here on steep primary rock terraces with poor and stony soils.
- Krems Kreuzbergthe Kreuzberg is located to the west of Krems. Here, too, the vines grow on primary rock soils, similar to those in the Wachau. The Riesling thrives particularly well here.
