*** The Winzergemeinschaft Achkarren is one of the most renowned winegrowers' associations in Germany and can look back on almost 90 years of history. Today, 248 vintners with a total vineyard area of 183 hectares work together in this ultra-modern Baden winegrowing enterprise. Burgundy varieties are predominantly grown in the Kaiserstuhl region, with Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir making up the largest share with almost one third each.
One of the best sites of the Achkarren winegrowers' cooperative is the Schlossberg in the municipality of the same name. Here, the winemakers produce the finest Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris as dry late harvests of such high quality that no other cooperative in Germany is able to achieve.
