More information about Zagal Cabernet Sauvignon - Hacienda del Plata

In the glass, the Zagal Cabernet Sauvignon from Hacienda del Plata shows a dense purple color. Tilting the glass a bit, a transition of the hue towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. The first nose of Zagal Cabernet Sauvignon flatters with notes of red currant and black currant. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as leather and pepper.

The Zagal Cabernet Sauvignon from Hacienda del Plata is just right for all connoisseurs who like it dry. However, it is never sparse or brittle, as one would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully fleshy. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Zagal Cabernet Sauvignon flatters with velvety mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness. The finale of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Mendoza, more precisely from Luján de Cuyo, finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the gravel-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Zagal Cabernet Sauvignon from Hacienda del Plata

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Cabernet Sauvignon. For this exceptionally powerful single-varietal wine from Hacienda del Plata, only impeccable grapes were used. In Mendoza, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of gravel. The grapes for this red wine from Argentina are harvested exclusively by hand, at the time of optimal ripeness. After the harvest, the grapes are taken by the fastest route to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a few months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.

Food pairing for the Zagal Cabernet Sauvignon from Hacienda del Plata
