The elegant Cuvée Les Tentes from Weingut Zelt comes into the glass with bright purple red. this German red also shows a transition into garnet red. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry and mulberry, rounded out by juniper, garrigue and air-dried ham contributed by aging in wooden barrels.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It has been bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety. The final of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate, more precisely from Laumersheim, finally impresses with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Cuvée Les Tentes by Weingut Zelt
The basis for the balanced Cuvée Les Tentes from the Palatinate are grapes from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Dornfelder and Dunkelfelder. In the Palatinate, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone. After harvesting, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Cuvée Les Tentes is aged for another 12 months in oak barriques.
