With the Claus Preisinger Zweigelt Kieselstein comes a first-class organic red wine in the swirled glass. It offers a wonderfully brilliant, bright red color. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World offers wonderfully expressive aromas of plum, black cherry, morello cherry and blueberry, rounded off by toasted barrique, oak and cigar box, contributed by aging in wooden barrels.
The Claus Preisinger Zweigelt Kieselstein presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine enthusiast. This red wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. Light-footed and complex, this crisp and fleshy red wine presents itself on the palate. With its present fruit acidity, Zweigelt Kieselstein is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Burgenland finally impresses with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by gravel and loess.
Vinification of the Zweigelt Kieselstein by Claus Preisinger
The elegant Zweigelt Kieselstein from Austria is a single varietal wine, organically vinified from the Zweigelt grape variety. In Burgenland, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess, gravel, volcanic rock and black earth. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Zweigelt Kieselstein are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Zweigelt Kieselstein is aged for another 10 months in oak barrels.
Food recommendation for the Zweigelt Kieselstein by Claus Preisinger
This Austrian red wine is best enjoyed tempered at 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as a companion to goose breast with gingered red cabbage and marjoram, duck breast with sugar snap peas or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs.
