More information about Sauvignon Blanc trocken - Groh

The light-footed Sauvignon Blanc from Groh shines into the glass with a brilliant light yellow color. In the glass, this white wine from Groh shows aromas of gooseberries, physalis, pink grapefruit, mangoes and guavas, complemented by Mediterranean herbs, juniper and lovage. The Groh Sauvignon Blanc delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 5.9 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the upper price range, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Aroma doesn't necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this light-bodied white wine is wonderfully crisp. Due to its concise fruit acid, the Sauvignon Blanc presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of pineapple and orange appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by marl and limestone join in.

Vinification of the Sauvignon Blanc from Groh

The basis for the elegant Sauvignon Blanc from Rheinhessen are grapes from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and marl. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Sauvignon Blanc from Groh

Drink this white wine from Germany best well chilled at 8 - 10°C as an accompanying wine to red onions stuffed with couscous and apricots, spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto or fruity endive salad.
