The A. Diehl Blanc de Noirs is varietally vinified from Merlot grapes and enters the glass with an incredibly delicate yet expressive salmon pink color. The nose of this white wine made from red grapes is dominated by aromas of white and black currants, complemented by hints of mango and passion fruit. Floral notes, delicate hints of almond and a hint of hay perfectly round out the bouquet of this Merlot Blanc de Noirs from Diehl.
On the palate, the Blanc de Noirs from Diehl presents itself with a fine melt, animating fruitiness and invigorating acidity. A subtle residual sweetness gives this wine an incredible drinking flow.
Vinification of the Merlot Blanc de Noirs from Diehl
This white-pressed Merlot is produced by crushing the Merlot grapes and separating part of the must after a very short maceration period. The crushed Merlot grapes are further processed into red wine, while the nearly colorless, pressed must is fermented into Blanc de Noirs.
