More information about Clarette Rosé trocken - Knipser

The Knipser Clarette Rosé is accompanied by a wonderful contradiction. On the one hand, this rosé cuvée was pressed from the most powerful grape varieties of the Palatinate, on the other hand, this wine offers an elegant drinking flow that is difficult to stop. This rosé impressively underscores that the 3-time best-awarded VDP winery Knipser vinifies simply brilliant wines even in the basic segment.

The Cabernet grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc) bring power - the Sankt Laurent the juice. Thus, the Clarette Rosé of Knipser then also comes with delicate strawberry pink in the glass and shows itself here fragrantly animating with light hints of strawberry punch, wild raspberries and peonies. All this is so elegant and multi-faceted that we dare not take our nose out of the glass.

Knipser's Clarette has SOMMER written all over it and you know exactly - this is the German answer to the Provençal rosé.

Vinification of the Knipser Clarette Rosé

The Bordeaux classics Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot come together in perfection in this Palatinate rosé wine. The Clarette is complemented by various Cabernet crosses from Cabernet Cubin to Cortis. The fact that not only Provence but also the Bordelais is quoted here is already apparent from the name, because it is not far from Clarette to the Clairet wines from Bordeaux. The particularly elegant aroma of Clarette is also due to the particularly cool fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks, after the maceration in the saignée process.

Food recommendation for the Clarette Rosé from Knipser

Enjoy this dry rosé from Germany either in large sips solo or with light dishes as an aperitif.

Awards and press comments on the Knipser Clarette

"The Clarette is a revelation and the best of its kind in Germany."
Der Feinschmecker 2018/2019

"The rosé here never turns out just "tasty", it shows a clear, dry edge as Clarette."
Vinum Wine Guide 2019

"A wonderfully fresh, fruity, quaffable yet racy wine that sets standards in this category, which is usually dominated by banal little wines, and can hardly be found a second time in Germany in this quality."
Der Feinschmecker 2015

"Delicious is the Rosé Clarette, from the Cabernet Sauvignon comes the intense fruit, it is sparkling, not jammy, neither yogurt nor raspberry fizz, but wonderfully juicy and quaffable."
Eichelmann 2015
