Merlot Sicilia DOC 2018 - Feudo Arancio
The grapes for the smooth, fine Merlot from Feudo Arancio grow in the DOC Sicilia wine-growing region of Italy.
In the glass this wine shimmers in a ruby red tone with delicate violet reflections. The bouquet is broad and powerful, with notes of ripe fruit, cherries and berries (raspberry and blackberry) in alcohol. A soft aroma of jam with spicy notes of wood completes the fragrance. On the palate, this Italian red wine impresses with its medium structure, supple texture and fine, soft tannins. This wine reflects the warmth of Sicily in fragrance and taste.
Vinification of Feudo Arancio Merlot
The ripe Merlot grapes are harvested in mid-September, destemmed in the Feudo Arancio cellar and then fermented on the skins for 10 days in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by malolactic fermentation. The wonderfully spicy woody notes and fruity aromas are provided by the 10-month ageing in French oak barriques.
Food recommendation for the Merlot Feudo Arancio Sicily
We recommend this dry red wine from Italy with matured ham, soups of legumes, grilled and cooked meat, roasts and spicy cheeses.
