More information about Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC - Feudo Arancio
The Nero d'Avola from Feudo Arancio is a fruity, smooth and pure red wine from the Italian DOC Sicilia wine-growing region.
In the glass, this wine has a strong, deep ruby red color with violet highlights. The intense and expressive aroma is reminiscent of notes of dark wild strawberries, redcurrants and pomegranate. This Italian red wine has a distinctly fruity character on the palate. You can taste intense aromas of blackberries, dark cherries and redcurrants, with subtle hints of blueberry and pomegranate underlining the richness of the fruit. Velvety soft tannins complement the fruity character.
Vinification of the Nero d'Avola Feudo Arancio
The Nero d'Avola is a high-quality autochthonous grape variety. Originally only grown around Syracuse, it is now found all over the island. The grapes are grown in the provinces of Agrigento and Ragusa. The former produces ripe, full-bodied wines. These are complemented by the delicately fruity wine from the province of Ragusa.
All grapes for this red wine are harvested when absolutely ripe, destemmed and fermented on the skins at around 23°C for around 8 days. Malolactic fermentation then takes place and this wine is matured in French barrique barrels for 6 months.
