Serralunga d'Alba Barolo DOCG - Fontanafredda

The Serralunga d'Alba Barolo DOCG from Fontanafredda is garnet red in the glass with ruby reflections. In a large red wine or Bordeaux glass, this flagship wine develops intense aromas of dark fruit, complemented by vanilla, spices and roses. Mineral nuances and hints of undergrowth round off the bouquet of the Fontanafredda Serralunga Barolo perfectly.

On the palate, this Barolo from Fontanafredda is absolutely dry, yet soft and velvety. A full-bodied and harmonious red wine from Fontanafredda with a long-lasting finish.

Vinification of the Fontanafredda Serralunga d'Alba Barolo

This single-varietal Barolo is made from Nebbiolo grapes, whose vines are rooted in soils with limestone, gray marl and sand. After the grapes are harvested in October, they are fermented in the traditional way. This takes place at a controlled temperature over a period of 15 days in stainless steel tanks. The must remains in contact with the skins for a further 15 days to optimize the extraction of color and aromas.

This red wine is then aged for one year in barriques and for a further year in large French oak barrels. To give the Serralunga d'Alba Barolo the finishing touch, it is stored in the bottle for at least another year.
