More information about Morgon AOC - Domaine du Château de la Chaize
With the Domaine du Château de la Chaize Morgon comes a first-class red wine in the swirled glass. In this it presents a wonderfully bright, light red color. The first nose of the Morgon presents nuances of strawberries, raspberries and sour cherries. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as even more fruity-balsamic nuances.
The Domaine du Château de la Chaize Morgon presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine enthusiast. This red wine never shows itself coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully silky. In the finish, this youthful wine from the wine-growing region of Burgundy finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of raspberry and red currant appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the granite-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Morgon from Domaine du Château de la Chaize
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Gamay. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally balanced varietal wine from Domaine du Château de la Chaize. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Burgundy. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of granite. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the elegant Morgon is aged for several months in oak barrels.
