More information about Pomerol AOP - Château Latour à Pomerol

The multi-award winning Pomerol from the Bordeaux wine-growing region reveals itself in the glass in a dense crimson red. Tilting the glass slightly, a transition of the hue towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. Tilting the glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Château Latour à Pomerol presents aromas of plums, black currants, lilac and blackberries, complemented by other fruity nuances. On the palate, the Pomerol from Château Latour à Pomerol starts out wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the palate, the texture of this punchy red wine is wonderfully velvety. In the finish, this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of black currant and blackberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and gravel are added.

Vinification of the Château Latour à Pomerol Pomerol

This powerful red wine from France is vinified from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and gravel. Clearly, Pomerol is also defined by more than just the Pomerol soil. This Frenchman can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, and it is exceptionally impressive. The berries for this red wine from France are harvested, at the time of optimal maturity, exclusively by hand. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the powerful Pomerol is aged for another 16 months in French oak barriques.

Food recommendation for the Pomerol of Château Latour à Pomerol

This French wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to leek soup, veal boiled beef with beans and tomatoes or chickpea curry.
