More information about Vinas Viejas Rioja DOCa - Beronia
Vinas Viejas Rioja from the wine-growing region of La Rioja, aged in barrels, presents a dense ruby red color in the glass. This single varietal Spanish wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of black cherries, plums, blackberries and black currants in the glass. These are joined by hints of black tea, cinnamon and dark chocolate.
This red from Beronia is perfect for all wine enthusiasts who like as little sweetness in their wine as possible. At the same time, it never shows itself to be meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully fleshy. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Vinas Viejas Rioja flatters with a pleasing mouthfeel, without at the same time lacking in juicy liveliness. The finish of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of La Rioja, more precisely from the Rioja DOCa, finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by limestone and clay.
Vinification of the Vinas Viejas Rioja from Beronia
This powerful red wine from Spain is made from the Tempranillo grape variety. In La Rioja, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a few months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
