More information about Côte de Nuits Villages AOC - Joseph Drouhin
In the glass, the Côte de Nuits Villages from the house of Joseph Drouhin shows a bright light red color. Slightly slanted, a transition of the wine color towards garnet red is visible at the edges. After the first swirl, one can perceive a first class balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. To the nose, this Joseph Drouhin red wine shows all sorts of plums, damson plums, morello cherries and black cherries. As if that wasn't already impressive, cocoa bean, black tea and vanilla join the mix.
This red from Joseph Drouhin is a good choice for all wine lovers who like it dry. However, it is never sparse or brittle, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully silky and fleshy. In the finish, this storable red wine from the wine-growing region of Burgundy finally inspires with beautiful length. Once again, hints of plum and morello cherry are evident. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by marl and clay are added.
Vinification of the Côte de Nuits Villages by Joseph Drouhin
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. Only premium grape material was harvested for this beautifully balanced single varietal wine from Joseph Drouhin. In Burgundy, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and marl. After the grapes are harvested, they immediately go to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging.
