More information about Chenin Blanc - Allesverloren Estate
The elegant Chenin Blanc from the pen of Allesverloren Estate shines with a bright platinum yellow in the glass. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from South Africa offers wonderfully expressive aromas of pink grapefruit, plum, pomelo and grapefruit, rounded off by sun-warmed rock and forest floor.
On the palate, the Chenin Blanc from Allesverloren Estate starts out wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. There are dry and really dry. This white wine belongs to the latter group, as it was bottled with only 2 grams of residual sugar. Balanced and multifaceted, this crisp white wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Chenin Blanc flatters with a pleasing palate feeling, without lacking freshness at the same time. In the finish, this storable white wine from the Coastal winegrowing region finally inspires with good length. Hints of pear and lemongrass are again evident.
Vinification of the Chenin Blanc from Allesverloren Estate
The basis for the balanced Chenin Blanc from Coastal Region are grapes from the grape variety Chenin Blanc. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Chenin Blanc are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the hand harvest, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
