More information about Côtes du Roussillon Villages Carte Ancienne - Château de Jau
The barrel-aged Côtes du Roussillon Villages Carte Ancienne from the Roussillon wine-growing region shows a bright purple color in the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Château de Jau reveals aromas of black cherries, morello cherries, plums, mulberries and blueberries, complemented by vanilla, beech smoke and firewood. The Château de Jau Côtes du Roussillon Villages Carte Ancienne delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 4 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the upper price range, this Frenchman naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Côtes du Roussillon Villages Carte Ancienne presents itself exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Roussillon, more precisely from Cotes du Roussillon-Villages, finally thrills with considerable reverberation.
Vinification of the Côtes du Roussillon Villages Carte Ancienne from Château de Jau
The basis for the balanced Côtes du Roussillon Villages Carte Ancienne from Roussillon are grapes from the grape varieties Carignan, Grenache and Syrah. After the hand harvest, the grapes quickly reach the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in French barriques.
