This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the upper price range, this South African naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this punchy rosé wine is wonderfully light. In the finish, this youthful wine from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape finally thrills with good length. Again, hints of strawberry and raspberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the granite-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Kanonkop Estate Kadette Pinotage Rosé
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinotage. Only premium grape material was brought in for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Kanonkop Estate. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Western Cape. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of granite. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Kadette Pinotage Rosé can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
Food recommendation for the Kadette Pinotage Rosé from Kanonkop Estate
This rosé wine from South Africa is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto, vegetable stew with pesto or pasta with sausage meatballs.
