More information about Oude Kaap Rosé - DGB

With the DGB Oude Kaap Rosé comes a first-class in the swirled glass. Here it offers a wonderfully brilliant, copper-gold color. This single-varietal South African wine shows wonderfully youthful notes of black currants, mulberries, blackberries and blueberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of other fruits.

This rosé from DGB is just right for all wine lovers who like as little residual sugar in the wine as possible. At the same time, it never appears meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine beyond the 5-euro mark. Light-footed and multifaceted, this light shows on the palate. In the finish, this storable wine from the Coastal winegrowing region finally inspires with good length. Hints of blueberry and blackberry show again.

Vinification of the DGB Oude Kaap Rosé

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinotage. For this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from DGB, only the best grapes were harvested. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures.

Food recommendation for DGB Oude Kaap Rosé

This South African is best enjoyed tempered at 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to asparagus salad with quinoa, vegetable couscous with beef meatballs or veal boiled beef with beans and tomatoes.
