More information about Narassa AOC - Domaine Lafage
The Lieu Dit Narassa of Domaine Lafage enters the glass with a dense purple color and reveals a bouquet full of dark berries such as blackberries and fully ripe raspberries. Juicy as well as dried plums also come to mind. Further, dried herbs such as thyme and some lavender as well as earthy notes, chocolate, some cinnamon and cedar and also pepper and black olives complement the bouquet of this red wine.
On the palate, this French red wine is very full-bodied, powerful and velvety-silky. The vital fruit acidity keeps the opulent aromas in balance and makes the Narassa by Lafage an elegant palate pleaser despite its opulence. The finish again shows plenty of fruit, coupled with minerality and spice.
Vinification of the Lafage Narassa
The Lieu Dit Narassa of Lafage has its origins in particularly old Grenache and Syrah vines. These are deeply rooted in the brown weathered schist soils around Maury along the southern slopes of the Massif des Corbières.
After a particularly meticulous selection of the grapes, they are pressed and crushed for Narassa at the Lafage winery. After temperature-controlled fermentation, this wine is aged in concrete tanks and 20% in demi-muids, barrels with a capacity of about 650 liters.
Food recommendation for the Lieu Dit Narassa
This dry red wine from France is a wonderful winter wine, but also makes a perfect figure in the summer time slightly chilled especially with grilled beef or lamb.
