The powerful Montes Alpha Carmenère from Montes shines with a dense purple red in the glass. The bouquet of this red wine from the Valle Central delights with hints of plum, mulberry, black currant and morello cherry. If we trace the aromatics further, dark chocolate, black tea and cinnamon are added, encouraged by the oak influence.
The Montes Montes Alpha Carmenère impresses with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Chilean enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety and dense. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region Valle Central, more precisely from Valle de Rapel, finally thrilled with considerable reverberation.
Vinification of the Montes Montes Alpha Carmenère
The basis for the powerful Montes Alpha Carmenère from Valle Central are grapes from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Montes Alpha Carmenère are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Montes Alpha Carmenère is aged for another 12 months in French oak barriques.
Food recommendation for the Montes Montes Alpha Carmenère
This Chilean red wine is best enjoyed at a temperate 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, braised chicken in red wine or boeuf bourguignon.
