More information about Röttgen Riesling Großes Gewächs - Weingut Knebel
With the Weingut Knebel Röttgen Riesling Großes Gewächs comes a first-class white wine in the glass. In this it shows a wonderfully bright, light yellow color. This wine also shows golden yellow reflections in the center. If you swirl the glass, you can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, because it does not stand out on the glass walls watery or syrupy or liqueur-like. The bouquet of this white wine from Mosel enchants with aromas of green apple, peach and apricot. If we trace the aromatics further, mineral comes in.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 6 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully light. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Röttgen Riesling Großes Gewächs reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this mature white wine from the wine-growing region the Moselle, more precisely from Winningen, finally thrilled with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the slate-dominated soils.
Vinification of the winery Knebel Röttgen Riesling Großes Gewächs
The balanced Röttgen Riesling Großes Gewächs from Germany is a single-varietal wine, made from the Riesling grape variety. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Mosel. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of slate. What is unusual about the production of this white wine from Weingut Knebel is the fact that the grapes grow on stone terraces in Winningen (DE). However, this traditional form of vineyard management is very costly and time-consuming and therefore rarely found anymore. Of course, the Röttgen Riesling Großes Gewächs is also determined by more than just the soil of Winningen. This German wine can literally be described as an Old World wine that is exceptionally impressive. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.
