Cuvée Prestige Chardonnay - Bon Courage

The Cuvée Prestige Chardonnay penned by Bon Courage from the Breede River Valley shows a dense, golden yellow color in the glass. The bouquet of this white wine convinces with aromas of grapefruit, lemongrass, pomelo and lime. If we trace the aromatics further, oriental spices, gingerbread spice and dark chocolate are added, aided by the oak influence.

The Cuvée Prestige Chardonnay already comes quite close to this, as it was vinified with just 2.4 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful white wine is wonderfully light. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Cuvée Prestige Chardonnay is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this ripening white wine from the Breede River Valley winegrowing region, more precisely from Robertson, finally convinces with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Bon Courage Cuvée Prestige Chardonnay

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Chardonnay. For this exceptionally powerful single-varietal wine from Bon Courage, only first-class grapes were used. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Cuvée Prestige Chardonnay is aged for another 8 months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Cuvée Prestige Chardonnay from Bon Courage

This South African is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to vegetable stew with pesto, potato pan with salmon or omelet with salmon and fennel.
