Vinification of the Herdade dos Grous Moon Harvested Alicante Bouschet

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Alicante Bouschet. Only the best grape material was harvested for this exceptionally powerful varietal wine from Herdade dos Grous. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Alentejo. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand and shale. Moon Harvested Alicante Bouschet is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Portuguese exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by 12 months of aging in barrique and new French wood.

This Portuguese is best enjoyed tempered at 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to red onion stuffed with couscous and apricots, vegetable stew with pesto or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs.
